AMCC’s SATA Storage on Steroids

AMCC’s new 3ware 9650SE-16ML controller card makes high-performance SATA a much more compelling sell, especially on servers used for incremental backups or data warehousing. Not only does the card support standard RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, and JBOD modes, but it also adds RAID 6 to the mix, protecting against data loss if a second drive fails during a rebuild. Proprietary algorithms help push maximum throughput.
AMCC does its part to promote organized cabling through its multi-lane connection system, which consolidates four SATA ports into each locked board interface.
